The community's emphasis on education has driven remarkable rates of university attendance and professional achievement across generations. Tamil-owned businesses — from restaurants and grocery stores to tech firms and real estate companies — contribute significantly to the Canadian economy.

Tamil language schools, temple activities, cultural festivals like Thai Pongal and Deepavali, and youth associations all play important roles in ensuring that Tamil identity remains vibrant across generations, even thousands of kilometres from Tamil Nadu or Sri Lanka.
